Employment Opportunity Coordinator – Health Transformation

SUMMARY
The Health Transformation Coordinator oversees and ensures the implementation of the AIAI Health
Transformation Strategic Plan.
This position will work collaboratively with the Health Transformation Policy Advisor and under the
direct supervision of the Health and Wellness Manager and will work with the AIAI Health/Social
Advisory Board, AIAI Political Executive and the AIAI Chiefs Council.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Create technical and political AIAI Health Transformation Committees.
• Development of AIAI First Nation led negotiation agenda.
• Development of joint Tri-lateral Health Transformation Agreement.
• Development of Tri-lateral Joint Action table.
• Development and implementation of AIAI Engagement Strategy.
• Development and implementation of research plan.
• Development of communication plan.
• Development of resolutions/mandates for approval to support next steps in Health
Transformation.
• Provide updates verbally and in writing.
• Create presentations appropriate for all levels within the AIAI membership.
• Develop proposals, briefing notes, impact analysis, position papers, discussion papers, and lobby
kits for the AIAI Executive and Chiefs Council.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as well as workplans and annual budget
requirements.
• Develop recommendations of response to include assessment, plan/strategy, and an
implementation phase, as well as an evaluation component for policies which impact the AIAI
member Nations.
• Oversight of program budgets and reporting to funder.
• Perform other related duties as requested.

REQUIREMENTS
• University or College degree in a related field.
• Approximately 1-3 years of work experience.
• Pervious work experience within a Native Organization is an asset.
• Must be knowledgeable of current issues affecting First Nations in Canada.
• Must have knowledge of the federal, provincial structure including the AIAI political structure.
• Experience with policy and data analysis.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must be willing to accept responsibility and to show good judgement, initiative, and
resourcefulness.
• Must be willing to adhere to the principles of confidentiality and to comply with all mandated
training and ethical guidelines.
• Must value working in a collaborative environment.
• Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows inclusive of all
application i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Must be willing to travel extensively and possess a valid Ontario Drivers License.
• Indigenous ancestry preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Travel required.
• Ability to conduct presentations.
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop and peripherals.
• Flexible work hours as required.

TERM – Contract ending March 31, 2023

SALARY
• As per AIAI Salary Grid – $53 550 – $65 000 (based on qualifications and experience)
