Dear Staff and Community Members,
As you know, the child welfare system has and continues to harm our children, families and communities. For too long our children have been removed from their families and communities and placed with non-Indigenous families. This must end.
Much work is under way nationally and provincially to redesign the child welfare system to make it more responsive to the needs of our children and communities. To that end, our Leadership, along with the Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians Leadership, would like your input on what community control over child welfare means to you, and what it could/should look like in the future.
