About
AIAI Position
The Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians continues to promote the management and conservation of our natural resources on our traditional territories. In order to fulfill these responsibilities a tri-lateral agreement amongst First Nations, Canada and the Province of Ontario has secured financial support for resource and economic development initiatives specific to natural resources.
Is your community considering a natural resource management or conservation project?
If your answer is yes, then AIAI encourages our member First Nations to submit an application to receive up to $35,000.00. For more in formation on how to apply please refer to the Resources tab.
Background
The Canada Ontario Resource Development Agreement (CORDA) is an agreement between Canada, Ontario and First Nations’ members in Ontario and is funded by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Agreement promotes resource and economic development initiatives of First Nations’ members by providing financial assistance to develop and utilize renewable natural resources.
CORDA continues to support sustainable natural resource projects and encourages the promotion of this program to your local community.
